On this lunar day, Lord Rama is said to have observed fasting (fasting) to cross the ocean and find a way to reach Lanka. Why is Vijaya Ekadashi celebrated?

Vijaya Ekadashi is celebrated every year during the Krishna Paksha of the Hindu lunar cycle. Not only is it a festival dedicated to Lord Rama, but it is also considered as a way to wash away the crime caused by sins committed in the previous year. The fast of Vijaya Ekadashi is believed to help people overcome their enemies or overcome challenges.

Followers of Lord Rama and Vishnu chant Vishnu Sahasranama on this auspicious day when waking up early in the morning and taking ritual bath. The fast (fasting) should be kept throughout the day and it can be broken only after reciting the Vishnu Sahasranama once again at night. The fasting person may have only a small meal during the fast, which may include fruits or some milk.
